The American Sociological Association invites sociologist to become an International Associate, a new category of membership recently approved by ASA Council. International Associate members receive online access to all ASA journals, as well as other membership benefits, except voting, at a dues rate of USD44.00.

International Associate membership is for persons in all countries, excluding OECD member countries and other high-income per capita countries that are defined by the World Economic Forum as in the top 35 most "globally competitive" countries. [List of countries not eligible]

In addition, ASA invites potential International Associate members for whom the USD44.00 dues rate would be a hardship to request a waiver of the member fee for one year. This opportunity is made possible through a special fund created by ASA member donations. Approximately 50 such waivers are available for International Associate memberships in 2010.

To join ASA (or renew your membership) as an International Associate and pay the USD44.00 dues, log in to the online application/renewal system using your ASA ID («ContactID») and password («PIN»). Select "Pay Online."
