Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The present essay try to offer an image of intensity and structure of the internal migration from Romania, focusing on the changes from the last decades, comparing that with the communist period.
At the beginning, are made several theoretical and methodological remarks related to the different approaches in migration issue, the authors choosing a complex point of view. Trying to combine the explicative advantages of a holistic approach, also with individual deterministic, and verstehende methods, to take into account the sense of implied actors.
The second part came to demonstrate that in communist period, one could experience a specific pattern of internal migration (preserved in the first years after 1989). Clear directions of mobility, started from the rural and targeting the urban areas, from weak developed territories to relatively high-developed (almost industrialized) regions characterized that period.
But for the last couple of years, we can see a near totally de-construction of the migration field, means that parallel with a sensible reduction of the phenomenon (as intensity and distances, as well). The former clear direction of mobility disappears; one can hardly find rule, to show a clear direction of migrations. The migration flow from rural to urban settlements is in equilibrium by now, and beginning from 1997 the most important direction is starting from urban and arriving into rural areas. One other specific change is also, that the geographical distance of mobility developed into a more short movement as in the past decades was.

Abstract: Over 40 years of communist regime market their influences on attitudes and mentalities, generating mental and actional stereotypes, possible obstacles in the foreseen changes.
The more obvious stereotypes are. The critical economic and social situation of the country is mostly due to some hostile, deceiving forces, wishing Romania’s harm; great confidence in official informational sources; orally and not actional political engagement; reticence towards political activity; distorted and contradictory understanding of the political scene; state assurance of social equality; reticence towards market economy and radical social reform; state paternalism; reticence towards social institutions and special towards the new political institutions.

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The study comprises a theoretical part providing an analysis of the relation between personality, self as well as multiple and situational identity. Further debate is dedicated to the cognitive and axiological features of college students. The application of the "Who Are You?" test is meant to reveal changes in the self- identification to Romanian students. The time interval considered is fifteen years (1982-1997). The results obtained in the ranking of some values are also included (the time interval is the same). Some comparations are suggested concerning longitudinal data provided by the application of the "Who Are You?" test to American students. The approach relies on the hypothesis of the simultaneous increase of the spontaneous (impulsional) self and decrease of the institutional self in global self-identification.
