Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): Scandinavian sociology is a most unknown in Romania. This article emphasis issues related to Nordic sociology evolution, the main scientists in the area, the recognition of sociology as an academic subject and also related to the thematical areas in the Nordic sociology. In the same time, the article presents the influences suffers by the classical Scandinavian sociologists and also the impact of Nordic sociology at international level. The selection of authors presented here and also the structure of the article is based on “Acta Sociologica" 143, 4, 2000) which is the review of Scandinavian Sociological Association and also the main international sociological publication in Nordic countries.
