Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The article presents the first results of a research on cooperation relationships in hospitals. It indicates an intensification of the various forms of cooperation in medical and care  (paramedical) teams. The increasing autonomy of professional bodies and medical specialties, the increased personnel mobility and the restructuring of work collectives as an effect of the imposition of new managerial styles in health care institutions, the regrouping of services in “activity poles” and the decrease of working hours to 35 hours per week (ARTT), etc. are all part of an explanation of the increase of working cooperation.

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The article was triggered by a methodological question: “Which is the moment in a research when the hypothesis are elaborated: before leaving in the fieldwork, or in the contact with the social reality? In other words, the article analyses the interplay between the social reality and the appearance of a new theory and focuses on three approaches in the study of migration: system theory, social networks, and transnational migration. Having this as a starting point and an analysis of the Romanian migration, the article builds a scheme of analysis, that, as I will show along the article, is mainly based on social networks theory.

Andreas Kempf

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): Many studies on external migration from Romania point out the emergence of new migration phenomenons like temporary and transnational migration referring predominantly to the community level of Romanian villages. The objective of this article is to bring the social impact of migration to the fore mainly focusing on family life of Romanian migrants with urban residency generating the typology. The starting point of the research were interviews with family members of migrant families 1. Viewed from the theoretical perspective of practice these interviews focused on how family is engaged in the migration process and on structural and functional modifications of family lives due to migration trajectories of family members. Essential elements were the genealogy of a family, its socioeconomic background as well as status and roles of family members. After a brief remark on the context of external migration from Romania and its illustration through exemplary migration experiences the article goes on to explicate several contemporary theories of international migration concluding that they can be faulted for focusing almost exclusively on the explanation of the causes of migration rather than dealing with the social impact of migration.

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The sustainability of new post-communist democracies depends essentially on their capacity to attract and maintain people’s support for the democratic regime. In the present analysis, the indicator satisfaction with democracy is considered as a function of both objective condition of the functionning of democracy and subjective aspects like citizens’ values and expectations. This analysis shows that people’s satisfaction with democracy depends mostly on the perceived performance of the political system and on perceptions related to the economic situation at both the national level and at the level of the household.
