The implications of groupthink and group decision making in organizations

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The aim of this paper is to emphasize the implication of group decision and groupthink in organization taking in account cases and theories which shows in which way those acts like. The article will also provide ways of counteracting the groupthink phenomenon once it has developed as well as how to prevent it from happening in the first place. Organizational goals are often displaced by a pattern of thinking that develops within organizations. This article also will highlight the importance of organizations concentrating on psychological sub-goals that will lead to harmony within the organization and ultimately, a desired result in the main, major goals of the organization.

Social structure and stratification in between wars Romania. Romanian sociological contribution regarding social change and developement

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): This article presents the evolution of social stratification during the period of modem Romania's birth as well as the way it was reflected in the between-wars social ideas. The influence of the Western World and the cultural encounter with the Western civilization has had a strong impact upon the sociological perspectives regarding the modernization of the Romanian society. Sociological debates basically focused the transition to capitalism and modern world trough some elements like; "historical heritage", "model" to be adopted or imitated, the appropriate means to follow a given "model", local specificities (cultural, psychological and ideological), etc. One might easily found similarities with the actual sociological debates on post-communist transition, no matter if different labels are currently used; "project capitalism", "path dependency", "the third way", a.s.o. Country modernization was strongly related to the capitalist organization in the ideas of the between-wars Romanian scholars. The debates from the Romanian between-wars sociology referring to normal or abnormal capitalist development trends will certainly open new theoretical and methodological perspectives for the second transition to capitalism in Romania.

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): Population growth had an important influence on architecture, as it determined increasing of construction volume, especially houses. Built houses are meant to endure for few generations. One of the problems is the function of building space as it was initially conceived. Another lifespan usually starts after one or two generations - after people forgot whether the building had good results in terms of cost, comfort and general public landscape. Often times the building is considered as an artistic object which fosters different opinions. In this article we try to present some of the public opinion regarding certain architecture works having been achieved during long time in Bucharest.

Family systems in East-European countries

Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): The idea of this paper is a review of the main theories about the Eastern European pattern of family and fertility - if there is any - historically and in the modern times. Some researchers argued there is an Eastern as well as a Western European system of family, and the differences between the two are remarkable. Other studies showed that the Eastern European countries include various types of family systems, and none one can be considered as predominant. However, during the modern times, the changes in family structure made the region homogeneous and similar to the rest of Europe, making the distinction East — West to be less important, at least in terms of fertility and family pattern. Selected articles published after 1990 are reviewed as well as frequently cited articles published before 1990.
